Clarets Looking to End Winless Run

The Clarets travel to Selhurst Park looking to end a winless run of six games in the Premier League and to pick up their first points of 2018.

But Roy Hodgson’s side will prove to be a tough opponent, having climbed to 14th place after a series of positive results since the former England manager took over.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from FA Cup exits after Burnley lost 4-1 away at Manchester City and Palace fell to a late 2-1 loss away at Brighton.

Winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou looks set to make his Burnley debut after signing on loan from Tottenham, potentially even starting the game with Scott Arfield again a doubt due to a hamstring problem that kept him out of last week’s FA Cup tie.

Record-signing Chris Wood and Ireland international Stephen Ward are both unlikely to feature as they battle to return from injury, although James Tarkowski is fit to play despite also missing the trip to Manchester City.

The Clarets have a good record against Palace; having won 18 of the 44 clashes between the two sides and losing just nine times.

When these teams met at Turf Moor earlier in the season, Burnley won 1-0 with Chris Wood’s first goal at home, leading to the early sacking Frank De Boer.

And Burnley earned a huge win in their last trip to Selhurst Park as goals from Ashley Barnes and Andre Gray sealed the Clarets’ only away win of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

They will remain in seventh place regardless of the result, although Sean Dyche will be keen to return to winning ways.
